It is back again, another opportunity to get it right. Everyone is campaigning for Nigerians to sign up for the PVC cards to get a chance to express our rights. But then, voting is not just our rights, it is our responsibility. The question we should be asking ourselves is this, what are the chances that our children would not become slaves? Poverty stricken and begging for food on the street side in future? Well that is the reality of a lot of children in today’s Nigeria.
When you eat that rice and onions you traded for votes, you are eating the future of your children.
I’m guessing you’re reading this on your own mobile phone so that means you can afford one, so there is a chance you can read, and your children are probably going to school. In a nation where the leadership does not prioritise education let alone food and health, the future of our children is slowly being traded for their pockets.
Whose future are we trading for onions?
Some people say the leadership want this because it is easier to rule poor uneducated people than it is to rule educated ones. Our continued ignorance is a win for these leaders hence they’ll rather get richer at your expense than give you a chance at an average life.
It is time for Nigerians to say no to political oppression and take the future of our children back. When they give you money, onions, rice this coming election just know that it’s because they are plotting to steal the future of your children. When you eat that rice and onions, you are eating the future of your children. Think about it.
